Social Studies — The Subject Most Students Under-Prepare
Social Studies (SST) is often treated as a last-minute subject — students try to cram it in the weeks before exams, write vague answers, and then wonder why their marks don’t reflect the effort. The problem is that SST rewards a very specific skill: structured, point-based, keyword-rich answers written under timed conditions.
Students who attend coaching for SST learn this skill systematically. Those who don’t tend to repeat the same pattern of under-performance board after board.
At Winning Quest in Kharar, our Social Studies coaching for Class 9 and 10 is built around one central goal: training students to convert their knowledge into the exact format CBSE examiners reward.

Our Answer-Writing Method
For SST, we train students on three answer formats:
- 1-mark: Direct, precise, one-line definitions using keyword from the question
- 3-mark: Three distinct points, each in a separate line with a sub-heading
- 5-mark: Introduction + three developed points + conclusion, with reference to maps or diagrams where applicable
Map work is practised repeatedly — it is a direct scoring opportunity that many students neglect.
